Its been almost 6 months now that I have used this laptop. [Click HERE, to read the previews article and know more about the laptop itself]
The laptop itself is still working well, fast and efficient, of course it might have something to do with my obsession of cleaning it. Disk Cleanup, Disk defragmenter, Anti-virus constan update and daily virus scans. Keeps it clean and working well. But there are some problems that i face with laptop.
Firstly, Vista complicates things. There are a lot of games and softwares that it is not compatible with. Those who barely know their way around the computer will find Vista deeply annoying. I personally regret getting Vista, and think I should have waited 6 months ago for windows 7. Although windows 7 is new itself, and will probably have its own sets of problem, microsoft has tried hard to make it user-frienly due to the complains and bad market Vista has received.
Secondly, a major problem that my laptop faces is bluescreen. I have solved bluescreen problems before this. As you can see in my top 5 must have freeware article. One of the solution is codecs. Most of the time bluescreen is because a virus or a software that cannot cooperate with your computer. But the bluescreen problem that I am facing with toshiba laptop is not the same. It does not happen when I'm working on it, but when I put the laptop in sleep or hibernate mode. Initially I thought I solved it when I removed the hibernate option. (This Toshiba Laptop did not come with a hibernate option, I added it myself. Which shows us one thing.. don't add stuff to the laptop that you don't really need. It was probably for the computer's own good that there was no hibernate option.) After I removed the hibernate option it was okay for a few days. But then the bluescreen started again.
I've tried to find out what's wrong, as I am not a computer expert, but I have taken short courses on computer a lot. (I was planning on doing Computer Science degree a few years ago, but Language and writing won hands down. So I know my way around computers) So far, after all my research and discovery XD, i've come to conclusion that it has something to do with my ethernet. If I do solve it, I'll post it here. If anyone has similiar problem or has come up with a solution, please tell me about it. We can help each other out.
Other than that, I find toshiba doing very well compared to our family desktop (hp brand) which has slow down tremendously.
