Oprah and Dr. Oz's impressive checklist on getting younger

I watching Oprah Winfrey's show today, and an episode about how to get younger and healthier was aired. It was pretty impressive, the way Dr. Oz explained new things that I didn't know about at all. Here is some of the things he mentioned based on his book "You: Staying young, the ownders manual for extending your warranty."

-The dark colored fruits are quite rich in the anti-oxidants. These repair the cells that are damaged by the oxidants in the free radicals. For instance, acai berries, blue berries, grapes, etc.

-Broccoli is one vegetable that you must once a day, preferable raw. It not only fights & prevents cancer. It also helps in the cure of thyroid.

-Next best vegetable to have is tomatoes that are rich in lycopene, an essential anti-oxidant for the human body.

-Green or White Tea - at least 4 cups a day - these are rich in polyphenols & catechins.

-You may also take 1 serving of red wine in a day. It is rich in the resveratrol that helps in the prevention of the cells from aging. Other rich source of resveratrol is the dark grape juice.

-Other rich foods that you must consider are cod liver oil.

Cinnamon considerable decreases the blood sugar level. It also lowers the cholesterol levels of the body. It is mainly suggested for the type 2 diabetes.

Ginger in the food decreases the blood pressure. It also alleviates the arthritis pain as it reduces inflammation. It also reduces the risk of cancer.

Turmeric is a great help for the arthritis patients. It is found in curry. It also helps to prevent the Alzheimer's disease.
